I finally got everything on

Ok I am a slacker and have not posted anything in a long time so here it is. I got my expander and wires put on, on Thursday April 5th, 2012. I went in on March 9 to get my expander fitted and then had to come back on March 12.....They scheduled me too early so I went to go get just my brackets on....how lame but the only other time they had since it was spring break was on april 5.......3 WEEKS WITH JUST BRACKETS!!!! Really????? So I go in on April 5 and they had both expanders since they had to resize me when I went in on March 9...a little confusing huh??? I though so too....So I get my expander put in and it hurts but that was the first time they put it in....they were just checking to see that it fit....well it did. They said " Oh well we should of just concreted that in the first time". So the second time they put it in they concreted it....thank you jesus...I was in a lot of pain but it was tolerable. They then put my wires on....it wasn't that bad. Then when I got home the pain hit me...I though I was going to die......I took off work the next day to sleep in and take it easy. I think that was a smart plan because now it is sunday and I feel better. My teeth are just a little sore from the wires but I am getting use to it. I am only allowed to turn my key on my expander once a day for 14 days....I am on day 4 now....so ten more days. I just have to keep telling myself that this is well worth it in the end. I will have straight teeth and a perfect smile. I have wanted this since I was little and had my teeth growing in crooked. My next appointment is on May 11, 2012 at 1:20 and I will change my color and most likely get to turn my expander again for another 14 days but probably twice a day...EEKKS!!!! It really is not that bad turning my key, it just feels like pressure on the upper part of your mouth but its makes my teeth feel better. I still can't eat solid foods except ice cream right now but hopefully I will when I go to Branson on Friday :) I cannot wait to get out of Fayetteville for the weekend. I will post pictures on here as well of my braces and expander.....

Ok....so it has been two weeks since my top spacers were put in. The first week was HORRIBLE!!!!! Then this past week was a lot better, then I had an appointment yesterday for my RPE Fitting and bottom spacers. They fitted me for my RPE and that was fine, but when they went in to put my bottom spacers in the girl was trying to get them in really fast and the metal tool slipped and now there is a little gash along side my jaw line in between my cheek and bottom right jaw line....if that makes sense. So the doctor had to come and put the other three in after she could only get one in and they had to use floss to thread it in the space....which hurt but I have a higher pain tollerence than most people. I bled a little but today they hurt so bad and I have been taking Tylenol like candy. Also I have been putting a warm wash cloth on both sides and that has helped a lot.....my husband has been so great while going thru this process....he is always checking on me and being really patient with me when I get a little cranky....I mean you would be cranky too if you had all this going on in your mouth...So Monday(today is Saturday) I get my Expander and Braces put on....I am super excited and can't not figure out what color I am going to choose. My mother told me either Hot Pink or bright blue....so I don't know yet.....I will have my braces on for 27 months. A long time but it will be well worth it and I am not worried at all about being 23 with braces. The only thing I am worried about it talking on the phone with my sponsors with the expander in. I heard you drool alot and you can barely speak but I would rather be all hyped up then go in and not be terrified. But I am going to post a pic of my spacers so you can see what I am talking about.....Have a Blessed Day!!!!

Today is the second day of my spacers. This is the step right before you get your braces on. The first day I had them in was an okay day, little pain at all. The second day was horrible, my teeth are so sore and I can hardly eat anything. Only 12 more days of just spacers. Geez that is a long time, but I hope it goes by fast. I am super excited about getting braces, because that only means I get to have a straight smile. I have always wanted one since I was little but I am one of four girls so when my two older sisters had there braces on it left my little sister and I out. Now I am 23 and getting braces, which I do not mind doing on my own. Spacers hurt, I am not going to lie. I tried to eat pizza last night and ended up swallowing most of it whole, which is never good. I will update again when I actually get my braces on. I will also post pics for those wanting to get braces.
